Client: Emergency Services Network - EE
Case 1
Task : Install infrastructure to ensure network integrity is maintained in event of mains power failure.
Edge Electrical was contracted to upgrade and protect the Emergency Service Network, which uses EE systems to ensure continuous communication for all UK first responders and emergency services, against power failure.
Delivering a six-year project across hundreds of UK sites, Edge Electrical is installing new cabinets at telecom sites to add emergency ready-to-go battery supply and connectivity for portable generators to cover longer outages.
Project Phase 1 is now complete with all installations tested by simulation. Intruder alarms have also been fitted as an extra layer of defence against interruption to this vital service.
Phase 2 remains ongoing.
Client: Three UK
Case 2
Task : Vendor swap and upgrade of cabinets to provide 5G service.
To provide full 5G service across the country, all Three UK cabinets require a vendor swap to the latest industry-standard systems. Covering 10 sites each week, Edge Electrical is removing redundant Samsung and Huawei cabinets and replacing them with Ericsson technology.
This project requires the installation and testing of new AC and DC infrastructure from cabinet to antennae with complete handovers of each site to Three UK call test commissioners for auditing and full network evaluation.
Project began in 2021 and remains ongoing.

Case 3
Task : Upgrade and vendor swap on critical sites and high-value, high-traffic assets.
EE tasked Edge Electrical with replacing Huawei technology with Ericsson cabinets alongside the upgrade of Nokia systems to BT Reach 5G at critical sites where protecting services throughout installation is paramount.
In many instances, this requires additional services including sub main and meter cabinet installation alongside distribution board replacements. Rigorous planning, quality control, and testing are required at each stage to ensure the completion of work without disruption.

Client: Mobile Broadband Networks Limited (MBNL)
Case 4
Task : Full infrastructure upgrade and future-proofing of sites across the UK.
Before huge telecommunications upgrades such as 5G can take place, modern infrastructure must be in place to handle the advanced requirements of new technologies. Edge Electrical is working with MBNL to provide full upgrades and future-proofing at major sites across the UK. This includes the installation of new meter cabinets, sub main circuits, distribution boards, link AC (mark 5 edition), and final circuits.
Each upgrade installation is a large and complex project requiring up to three weeks onsite and the addition of high-value infrastructure including large cables to increase power capacity.

Case 5
Client: BT Reach & Cellnex
Task : Reactive rectifications to make equipment safe and secure after incident or failure.
Every telecom site is installed with safety and ongoing protection in mind but not all issues can be predicted. Weather, accident, and deliberate vandalism affect the integrity, safety, and operations of sites and equipment. Edge Electrical is contracted by BT Reach & Cellnex to provide urgent and emergency rectifications for compromised sites. Agreements are in place that service will be provided across the UK in time frames ranging from 12 hours to five days depending on severity and urgency of issue.

Case 6
Client: Arqiva
Task : Full infrastructure upgrade and future-proofing of sites across the UK.
Before Arqiva and Anglian Water can build new antennas to support smart meter capabilities across their network, all sites must first be prepared with full electrical and telecom cabinet installation. Since 2021, Edge Electrical has installed, tested, and completed handovers at hundreds of locations across the UK allowing Arqiva to begin the next phase of this important project.
